Outlines are the basis of your assignments. They tell how to organise your thoughts and ideas in a logical manner. Once you know the art of writing effective outlines, you can easily make your work more valuable and readable for your audience. Most of the times, people don’t know how to create a workable outline for conducting their work in a plausible manner.

• First of all, it is good to determine your target audience. By this, you can easily detect how much supporting evidences and facts will be given in your assignment to support the main idea of your subject.
• Begin writing the basic outline for your assignment. List the main points of your topic and leaves sufficient space for adding sub-sections. Just make sure that each point follows a progressive format for obtaining an effective conclusion. If you arrange it illogically, then you may lose the track of appropriate structuring.
• Another important thing is to label your each main point by using Roman numerals. For instance, I. Introduction, II. Body and III. Conclusion. Place important information under each heading by keeping the details in just one line.
• Now, break your sub-sections by indenting five spaces. Label each sub-section by using letters such as A., B., C., D. etc. This further classifies your sub-sections and you can easily detect the difference of your main section and sub-section. In these sections, place the sub-headings and their details in a brief manner.
• You can also further break your sub-sections into third level sections or tertiary sections. If suitable, just label each point of this section by numbers.
• Once you are done with outlining your assignment, it is good to revise it for adding or subtracting more information. Now, start writing the first draft of your work by following the above outline.
